Twenty-plus acres of 80% mature woodland and 20% open pasture — plus a natural pool, outdoor kitchen, sawmill, cold storage, and a modern home built for real living.
Excavated and built entirely by hand — no pool company, no fiberglass shell, no chlorine. Our natural pool uses a custom planted filtration zone to clean the water biologically, keeping it crystal clear without any chemicals. The entry is a gradual sand beach, creating a genuine swimming hole feel rather than a traditional pool aesthetic.
The filtration system is a separate planted regeneration zone that recirculates pool water through gravel beds planted with aquatic plants. These plants absorb excess nutrients and outcompete algae for resources, keeping the water balanced naturally year-round.
The outdoor kitchen is a full-function cooking station built in block and stone — wood-fired grill, smoker, prep counters, sink with running water, and ample storage. It's positioned to use year-round: covered overhead for rain protection with an open firepit area adjacent for cold-weather evening gatherings.
The outdoor shower — gravity-fed with both hot and cold — is positioned between the pool and the outdoor kitchen, making post-swim cleanup and outdoor living genuinely convenient. This is where we process most of our cooking in summer months.
The contrast of raw, working land outside and a genuinely modern, well-designed home inside is entirely intentional. Homesteading doesn't mean sacrificing comfort or aesthetics — it means building a life that's connected to land and food while living well.
The interior is clean-lined and modern with natural materials — wood, stone, linen — that connect to the land without trying too hard. High ceilings, large windows looking out to the pasture and tree line, and an open floor plan designed for the way we actually live.
The equipment barn houses our tractor, ATV, implements, fencing supplies, and general farm equipment in a post-frame structure with concrete floor and metal roof. Adjacent to the barn is our sawmill station — a portable bandsaw mill that lets us turn tree removals and larger logs into usable lumber slabs and dimensional wood.
Live-edge lumber slabs cut on our mill go to the farm stand for sale to woodworkers and furniture makers. The off-cut and smaller material fuels our firewood operation. Nothing useful leaves the property as waste.
